Swim League is not your traditional swim meet. It’s a league of competition in the aquatic arena like you’ve never seen before. The points based competition sees team players face off in a thrilling contest. Team vs team in an action-packed 60min event.
Catering for swimmers of all ages and abilities, teams are comprised of a combination of males and females, with 10-18 members per team, each participating in 3-5 swims per competition.
Swim League started in 2016 in Newcastle and on the Central Coast with a modest 75 members. Each year since, membership has doubled, and interest has grown exponentially. Swimming NSW President, and triple Olympian, Chris Fydler OAM quickly saw the potential for the sport of swimming. Three short years later, in an exciting development for the NSW swimming community, Swim League was acquired by Swimming NSW. With over 1200 participants registered in the 2020 season, Swim League is establishing its place as the team sport to be a part of right now.
Run a Swim League Gala Day
Swim League Australia is excited to announce that Swimming Clubs, Swim Schools, Facility Operators, Leisure Centres and Schools can now run their very own Gala Day events. Register your interest HERE.
Swim League events are fun, social, short in duration, and inclusive. Swimmers compete in a team vs team format for points – this means you don’t need timing equipment or technical officials to run an event. A handful of senior swimmers would do an excellent job as helpers.
With no qualifying times needed to take part and no official timing on the day, Swim League has taken the pressure out of swimming competitions. Swimmers have a chance to try out exciting new non-traditional events. And the best part is, you don’t need to be a member of a club to take part.
You can choose a day that’s convenient for you to run an event. Run a Gala Day for just your members, or invite some nearby clubs to join the action.
